homemade black bean soup

The recipe

I love this soup and so does the boyfriend, he begs me to make this soup! The soup is delicious, but I love to make some adjustments I love to add more broth, add bow tie pasta, and mushrooms, and garnish with parmesean cheese, and serve with garlic bread. This way the soup seems to be a bit more hearty.

FALLing

Today I realized I am extremely excited for chunky sweaters, thermals, boots, tights, red lips, smokey eyes, messy hair, and woodsy perfume...all for fall!

this was actually a hair style from fashion week...I think Derek Lam (could be wrong though) love it~

Fall and winter months always seem like a good time to be a little more daring and edgy with your look.

wellies

The rain will be coming soon here in San Francisco and I am obsessed with "hunter" rainboots, the fit and comfort ratings are off the charts, which is exactly what I need for my many miles of walking in the rain... and what better color than the classic red... but they're $115! ouch-

READ IT

I just finished reading my sister's keeper, it is the saddest book I've ever read, yet an incredible read, I highly recommend it! (I'm hiding my face because it is all red and puffy from my emotional reaction to the ending.) P.s. Thanks Em James for this book, I loved it, if you want to read it let me know I'll send it to you:)

Temporarily curing homesickness

My sister was kind enough to send me homemade pumpkin-chocolate chip bread in the mail, we were a little worried about the state that it would arrive in, but after its long travel from Utah to California it arrived just as delicious as I remember. Homemade comfort food that means so much more when your far away from home.

Inside my little nook in the city

This is our snug little apartment that is a delightful 485 sq. feet, just enough space to call a home.
